Course Overview

This Introduction level course will give you all the skills you need to jump-start your Power BI journey. It discusses in depth the industry-recognized steps from raw data to detailed analysis via five main stages:

  • Loading the data
  • Transformation of the data
  • Creating a comprehensive Data Model and extending the Data model with DAX
  • Visualising the data in Power BI Desktop
  • Sharing and Collaboration with the Power BI Service or Power BI Server

Throughout the course you will access data from a wide range of data sources and create Reports using the in-built visuals. You will also be shown how to format those visuals for maximum effect and how to import custom visuals to extend your reporting capability. You will gain an introduction to the M and DAX languages and then publish your masterpiece to a workspace in the Power BI Service creating Dashboards, sharing Reports and Dashboards with colleagues, concluding with scheduling a data refresh.
